Sacha was extremely knowledgeable, articulate and passionate about the topic. He was thoughtful and courteous even with rainy conditions. We saw a side of Paris we have never seen and learned some fascinating history about coffee’s arrival in Paris and the social revolution it spawned. Bravo Sacha for such a unique and memorable experience.

We had a great time strolling through unique sites throughout Paris with Sacha! His way of conveying historical information was intriguing but not pretentious. Loved the way Sacha integrated the history and impact of coffee with French culture. We learned a lot and saw areas of Paris we never would’ve found without this tour! Highly recommend. Merci, Sacha!

We wholeheartedly recommend this tour! Sacha gave us so much fascinating information about the covered passages and the influence of coffee on French history. We really enjoyed that we were a small group and were able to have personal interactions. We learned so much and it was the best cup of coffee we've had on our whole trip!

We have been in Paris for 6 days at the moment of this tour – and it felt like it was our first day! Strolling along the streets and passages of Paris with Sacha felt like we are in totally different city. 10/10 experience – totally recommended! Good value for the price! I am not a coffee drinker – but the coffee that we had made me rethink my abstinence from coffee! Sacha is very charming, kind and funny!

This was SUCH an interesting and educational experience. I didn’t even know Passages and Galleries existed, let alone that there used to be many more than the 17 remaining or why. The tour explains so many of the “why” of the passages and of coffee - I had no idea how much impact this non-alcoholic, social gathering beverage (coffee) had on the history of Paris. Amazing! Sacha was such a patient and generous host. He is a native Parisian and has excellent knowledge to share. He was very patient with questions or pauses for pics. I can hardly believe how much I learned in one morning. I would highly recommend this experience !

I took this tour right after landing in Paris and it was the perfect welcome. Sacha was a delight—warm, intelligent, and full of fascinating stories about Paris’s hidden passages and coffee culture. With just one other guest, it felt personal and unique. Even on a hot day, the pace was comfortable, and each passage had its own personality and charm. Sacha pointed out details I would have missed on my own, making the experience even more memorable. We ended with a free coffee at an independent café that roasts its own beans and carefully sources them from specific regions—a delicious and behind-the-scenes peek into Paris’s coffee scene. Sacha also went above and beyond with restaurant suggestions and local tips. I’d absolutely book another tour with him!

Absolutely loved this tour! We enjoyed learning about the covered passages and their rise and fall. Coffee is included in this tour which is from a cool coffee location within a covered passage. We did the tour with our teenage daughters 19 & 16 and they were throughly engaged during the entire tour. You will not be disappointed because it covers such a unique part of Paris history! As our guide would say “let’s start a revolution, but first coffee!”

If you have to choose only one tour for Paris, this is the one! Gorgeous walks, covered passages, loads of history, and an amazing tour guide! Sacha is highly educated on the history and architecture of the hidden passages which hold such rich history! We cannot recommend this guided tour enough, and we cannot wait to come back again!

The covered passages are very stylish and unique part of Paris that many tourists may otherwise miss out on. Our host was extremely intelligent and easygoing, sharing a plethora of knowledge about French culture and architecture. Highly recommended for any history nerds out there!

Fantastic, unique, historical, and super fun walking tour with the best guide and a lovely coffee drink too! Sacha was great — tour started right on time, he was very friendly and kind; he made the history of the passages come alive and is a wealth of information. If you do only one tour in Paris, make it this one! We went in the morning and the streets were nearly empty — Paris was totally ours. Taking photos was so nice because no crowds at all! The passages are beautiful and interesting, and the walk went smoothly. Merci beaucoup, Sacha!

What a magical experience this was. It was like time travelling back to the 19th century. Hannah was super knowledgeable and passionate not only about the history of the passages, but of Paris in general. I know we bombarded her with questions and she didn't miss a beat answering anything, even about the coffee!!! I left feeling wide eyed and bushy tailed after having learned so much and tasting the best coffee I've ever had. The blooming trees were also a nice little surprise for everyone! And so so sooo beautiful. 😍 My little group did some exploring on our own once we were done. Such a great way to start your morning and make some new friends. I HIGHLY recommend.

The passages are an absolute must-see—truly precious hidden gems. Without this tour, we would have completely missed their charm and rich history. It was a wonderful way to experience a quieter side of Paris before the city came to life. My mother and I even returned on a different day, and it was amazing to see them in a new light, bustling with people and open businesses.

This walk was great from start to finish! Giovanni was excellent with clear instructions on where to meet and kept up a relaxed but highly interesting commentary throughout the walk. I learned a lot about the covered passages and as a consequence, also of the history of Paris, it’s like taking a trip through time. I’d highly recommend this walk to anyone looking to spend a Paris morning doing something a little bit different! And the coffee at the end is great!

Giovanni’s storytelling ability is second to none. He brings the magic alive behind all the hidden passage ways that he takes you through. We learned so much that we will take with us as we explore the rest of Paris. It exceeded our expectations and was an experience I would recommend to anyone who is interested in coffee and/or architecture.

Giovanni was a wonderful host for this experience! We went through several passageways in Paris, some known but some unknown. Giovanni not only talked about the architecture but also how it relates to the city’s history too. We ended the tour with a coffee which imo is one of the best I’ve had in Paris. Would recommend this tour to people who dont want to do the usual touristy things in Paris.

What a unique way to experience the beauty and magic of Paris. Giovanni is an amazing storyteller and shares a thoughtful story about the history of the hidden passages. It was a great personalised tour with a small group of us. Great discussions and we learnt a lot. A memorable tour that we highly recommend! Finished by what we considered to be the best coffee we had in Europe (sorry Italy 😉)

A morning walk through Parisian passages with Giovanni was magical. It was just me and my 15-year old son, so we were lucky to have such a private walk together. I loved the way Giovanni tied together historical, social, and architectural pieces, with a personal touch of fascination by it all. His love for and understanding of beauty is infectious. I only wish the tour could be longer:) The coffee spot to which he introduced us was also great - any coffee lover would appreciate such an ending. Thank you, Giovanni! I look forward to coming back to Paris and hope you may have a new tour created by then.

Really enjoyed my tour of the passages with Giovanni this morning. I wanted something a bit off the beaten track that was architecture focused but with an element of social history - this was perfect for that! Giovanni was very nice and has a really impressive knowledge of the passages, able to easily answer every question I had about them. He also clearly knows how to structure the information so that the story of the passages is easy to follow and how to make the tour a really enjoyable experience. Highly recommend booking this to anyone interested in architecture and looking to learn about a really fascinating part of Paris history.

Giovanni is an amazing story teller . The walking tour of the wonderful Parisian passages exceeded my expectation and it made me understand and appreciate more about these covered passages without the busy crowds. Giovanni also shared important information about history which are fascinating. The coffee is also amazing. Freshly brewed from freshly roasted coffee beans. Over-all, it was a great tour. Not your typical tourist attractions but definitely a great sights and information to know when you are in Paris. Highly recommended.

During this 90-minute tour, Giovanni walked us through the rise and fall of Paris' covered passages, weaving diverse strands of history — coffee, the revolution, Haussmannization — into a cohesive narrative that made me appreciate this slice of Parisian history so much more. Giovanni is extremely knowledgeable, and the tour is just the right length. Highly recommend!

What could be better than secret passages and freshly roasted coffee on a Saturday morning in Paris? Honestly, not much! Giovanni led an engaging, thoughtful, and incredibly fascinating tour through some of Paris’s “secret passages” which captured a moment in this city’s fascinating social and cultural history. The earlyish start was well worth the peace and quiet of this normally bustling city, and being able to truly see these spaces without the usual chaos was the icing on the cake. Or the crema on your espresso ;) For those looking for hidden gems, interested in art and architecture, history buffs, or just a change of pace, check out this tour. You won’t regret it.

I can not recommend this tour enough. Giovanni is a thoughtful, qualified tour guide with a lot of knowledge on the topic. We started at 8.30 am on a Saturday, when the streets were quiet. Giovanni showed us various covered passages (arcades), each one unique. We strolled through secret courtyards and gardens, experiencing Paris in a whole new light. The coffee at the end of the tour was good quality.

Giovani was fun and casual. The most relatable and down to earth your guide I’ve ever had. I feel like I could have sat down and talked to him for hours. He told great stories of the locations and a few bonus’s thrown in along the way. The included coffee stop was AMAZING. He won’t disappoint you on the specialty coffee front. He cares about good quality in both the your experience and the coffee. :-) I only wish it was a longer your because I couldn’t get enough of it.

Most unique tour we did during our week long stay in Paris. Giovanni was informative and engaging, plus it was great to have a real coffee. This Parisian adventure is more than just a walk; it's a captivating journey through time! In this tour Giovanni helped us discover the history of Paris's hidden network of charming, glass-roofed arcades. Giovanni took us to this lovely coffee shop where we savored freshly-roasted coffee together in the oldest passage. The way Giovanni linked this coffee to the history of covered passages is just incredible!

We loved the hidden passages tour! After doing tours that felt rushed and long, Giovanni’s tour was the perfect length of time and felt relaxing while also seeing something new and different. It was also a small group which felt more personalized. The coffee shop we ended at was awesome, so much so that we returned the day before leaving for another coffee (and beans to take home). The “see everything” tours are great to see a lot quickly, but if you’re looking to slow down and see something new that others don’t know about, and love coffee, this is the perfect tour!

Giovanni is very friendly and has a strength for storytelling. I have been to Paris in the past and visited a couple of the stops on our tour. However, I didn't know the story behind the places and Giovanni brought them to life in an intriguing way. In addition, there were hidden spots I would have never found on my own and seeing each one adds to the richness of the experience. It was fascinating to see how a few key decisions shaped the history of Paris and the world today. You get all that and some great coffee. Enjoy!

What makes my day is when you can connect with someone who is there not to just be your tour guide, but also help you see the world differently. Giovanni did that for me, and the others in our group. He is full of enthusiasm and passion for Paris, its history, and the architecture. All of the dots connect though his amazing storytelling around the hidden passages, which has beautiful and intricate details that makes Paris, Paris. I would do his tour again next time I’m in town. What a pleasure and privilege to be part of his passion sharing journey. Everyone in my group (3) wanted to extend our stay in Paris after this tour!

If you are looking for an experience in Paris that is off the beaten track, I can’t recommend this tour enough! Both my friend and I have been to Paris before (my friend many times), and yet we learnt so much from our short time with Giovanni and got to walk through some magnificent spaces in the city we otherwise would have missed! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Giovanni has tremendous enthusiasm for and knowledge of the passageways of Paris. He did a wonderful job discussing the history of the passages in a way that was informative but also very entertaining. It was money and time well-spent. We would have gladly spent another few hours walking around Paris with Giovanni. Bonus, we bought coffee beans at the spot he took us and went back the following Monday. It was the best coffee we had in Paris.

What an incredible time my sister and I had with Giovanni guiding us through twelve of the most amazing, and different, passages. His expertise and education added a level of engagement I didn’t expect. For example, he enticed us all to identify certain elements of a particular passage that made it special. So it wasn’t ‘yet another tour’; rather, it was truly interactive and I felt really involved, not just a spectator. I would highly recommend Giovanni’s passage tour. I know I will be recommending it to all my friends who come to Paris.

The location within one of 17 remaining historic “passages couverts” made this a unique experience. Giovanni presented geographic and Passage des Panoramas (Galerie-specific) 1700’s history that enhanced the coffee/espresso experience. Bonus: a take-home bag of fresh Brazilian (Grade 80+ i.e. “specialty grade”) coffee beans roasted to the precise second after the beans’ “second crack”. For coffee enthusiasts, this is a worthwhile experience to enhance one’s Paris trip. Highly recommended.

I’ll be honest- the first few times I tried to explain this experience to friends and colleagues, they didn’t really get why it was so special. That’s because I focused more on what we did - roast and taste coffee in a cool historical place - rather than on who led us through the experience - Giovanni, our excellent guide! He was very knowledgeable but also very personable, and because of him everyone seemed to have a very nice time. It will get a little warm while you are roasting the coffee, so plan accordingly, but this is not one you want to miss.

Giovanni is such a sweet, passionate soul. He clearly has a true love for coffee, but from an almost scientific perspective and not just as a hobby. I loved hearing about the different variety of coffees, how they are roasted, and even a history of the passage. As someone who worked frequently in Paris and had many a lunches in that passage, it was great to learn something new. It would be good in the future to offer the choice to take some medium roast home as I personally don't drink dark roasts but my dad loved it :)

The coffee roasting experience with Giovanni was definitely time well spent. As a host, he is super friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and his knowledge of coffee, its origin and distribution, and the roasting process itself is extensive. I now know why I like the types of coffee that I do, why some do not suit my palate, and what can be done to make certain roasts that are not my favorite more palatable, even, dare I say… delicious! Aside from this, I was given the history and tour of the remarkable covered passage in which the roasting facility and café are located. It is truly worth spending more time there!
